Install the Rails and the Server

Follow the instructions provided in the server rail kit to install the server rails and the server in the rack. Repeat for additional servers.

Important Considerations

When you install the rails, make sure to align the bottom of the rail with the bottom of the rack unit. Do not install rails in a position in which they will straddle rack units (U). Most racks provide alignment markers to indicate the rack units to use for rail installation.
When you install the server nodes in the rack, make sure to install them in the correct order. Review how the servers are installed in the rack. See the Rack Installation Guidelines.
Ensure that the server is properly supported during installation. As soon as the chassis is locked into the slide rails on both sides, the rack will be able to support the server.
Because the server weighs 60 lbs (27.2 kg), two people are required to lift it.
