Enable SNMP Authorization Traps

An authentication failure trap is an asynchronous message sent from a managed device, notifying the SNMP manager that someone has attempted to use the wrong community string or other authentication string.

You can enable SNMP agents to send authentication failure traps to the SNMP manager. The default setting is to have SNMP authorization traps disabled.

  1. Log in to the Appliance Controller CLI.
  2. Enter:
  3. snmp authtrapenable (enable | disable)

    The parameter is:

    (enable | disable)

    • Enter enable to enable SNMP authorization traps.
    • Enter disable to disable SNMP authorization traps.

    Note: The default setting is to have SNMP authorization traps disabled.
