Manage Applications

The following information applies to version 4 or later, of the Administer App Store application.

As a StorNext Connect administrator, you manage applications using the App Store.

When Quantum releases an updated version of an application, the update becomes available if you have a previous version of the application installed. The App Store allows you to view whether an application is up to date or in need of updating based on what is currently available in the App Store (online mode).

If an application is not installed, this operation will automatically install the application.

Note: When an offline package of application content is uploaded, all applications in the offline package are updated, including those not previously installed.

The number of updates available appears at the top of the App Store page. The Updates available message includes applications that are not installed.

To initiate updates to all installed applications that have available updates at the same time and to install a missing application, do the following:

  1. Click Update All Apps.
  2. When a message appears indicating the applications were successfully updated or installed, you can navigate out of the App Store.

After updating StorNext Connect applications, browser caching may prevent proper presentation or functionality on the StorNext Connect Dashboard or other application pages. Clear your browser's cache after StorNext Connect application updates.

Deleting an application is equivalent to uninstalling it, resulting in deleting all of the application’s data. For example, if you delete the NAS application, any existing NAS cluster configurations are deleted from StorNext Connect, too.

  1. In StorNext Connect:
    1. Click the Hamburger icon.
    2. Click System.
    3. Click Store. The App Store page appears.
  2. Click Delete.
  3. Click Delete again to confirm you want to delete the application and all of its data.

The App Store page for the Discover Components application identifies the version of the Connector that is available on the StorNext Connect system. From the same page, you can download new versions of the Connector when they become available. This Connector package is used to establish communication between the StorNext Connect system and Linux client systems.

  1. In StorNext Connect:
    1. Click the Hamburger icon.
    2. Click System.
    3. Click Store. The App Store page appears.
  2. Compare the installed version with the latest available version.
  3. If a new version is available, click Download to update the Connector version that the Discover Components application will use when you install or update the Connector on Linux client systems.
