Locate Serial Numbers

Refer to the figure below for the system and location of the drive magazine, handle, and quick-release lock.

The drive magazine serial number label is located on top of the unit. Refer to the figure below.

The chassis serial number labels are located on the inside bottom (1) and left side (2) of the unit. Refer to the figure below for the two locations on the chassis.

Refer to the figure below for a representative example of the serial number label that is placed on the drive magazine and chassis (2 locations).

The drive serial number label is located on the back of the drive.

Note: The drive serial number label is located in the same place on the back of the 2.5 inch or 3.5 inch drive.

• You must remove the drive magazine from the system.
  • Refer to Replace a Drive Magazine for assistance.
    
• Then you must remove the drive assembly from the drive magazine to view the drive serial number.
  • Refer to Replace a Drive Magazine for assistance.
    

Refer to the figure below for a representative example of the serial number label that is placed on the back of the drive. There are six 3.5 inch drives in this drive assembly.

Note: If the OMV/GUI defaults have been changed, use that data to log onto the system.

Complete the following process to use the GUI to locate chassis, magazine, and drive serial numbers.

1. Access the OMV/GUI.
   1. Default Address: 10.0.0.1
   2. Default Username: admin
   3. Default Password: password

   

2. Ensure the following screen appears.

   

3. Ensure the following screen appears.

4. Select the following: > Diagnostics > System Information.

5. Ensure the following screen appears displaying the chassis, magazine, and drive serial numbers installed within the system.

   

This screen provides a representative example of the chassis, magazine, and drive serial numbers installed within the system.
