Troubleshooting Summary

Troubleshooting is a form of problem solving that can be applied to repair failed products or processes. It is a logical, systematic search to find the source of a problem and fix it, so that the product or process will work correctly again.

 

This training resource provided information and activities on basic troubleshooting theory and strategy. It covered the fundamental skills needed for successful troubleshooting, outlined a troubleshooting process, and provided information and examples for each step in that process. In addition, it illustrated the process with a presentation and an activity.

 

This training covered the three phases of the troubleshooting process:

 

  1. Investigation
  2. Analysis
  3. Implementation

 

Knowing this process should give you a foundation in basic troubleshooting, and the fundamental skills that are essential to successful troubleshooting.

 

In addition, Quantum employees have many troubleshooting tools and resources at their disposal. This training outlined many of the troubleshooting tools and resources and provided examples of when to use each of them.
