Troubleshooting consists of the following phases:

 

  1. Investigation
  2. Analysis
  3. Implementation

These phases probably sound familiar if you have previously been exposed to troubleshooting. There are many troubleshooting methodologies out there, but most of them incorporate these phases (although they may refer to them by different names).
