Space Reclamation Fails (DRAFT) |
Problem: Reclamation fails with “Reclamation Interrupted - Error Encountered”
Diagnosis: The tsunami.log will have errors in the logs that a pre post hold file cannot be opened.
ERROR - 06/17/11-13:48:01 - BPWAPI.HoldList HoldList.cpp(1074) [bpgc] copyTagsToFile() - Cannot open the pre post hold file [/snfs/tmp/replication/OST/CX1109BVE00135-1307811647-219696169-sHjqc2/continuoustag]
Firmware Versions Affected: 2.0, 2.0.0.1, 2.0.0.2
Firmware Fixed: Targeted for 2.0.1
Reference: This issue can be referenced from PTR 24235.
Workaround 1: Verify that all the files in the /snfs/common/data/PrepostTagHoldList exist. If the files do not exist, the directory must be created and the file must be touched.
Note: This example is for /snfs/common/data/PrepostTagHoldList, but this will change based on the occurrence. In addition, all missing files will also need to be created.
Workaround 2: Run the script pHoldList prior to reclamation starting. CT: WHAT DOES RUNNING THIS SCRIPT DO? CT: When would you use workaround #1 as opposed to workaround #2?
Note: If the customer is backing up to or replicating to the DXi, the PrepostTagHoldList may constantly have lines written to it, causing the reclamation to still fail unless the workaround is being constantly applied. Follow PTR 17526 or 00002137 - 6-01199-216(Rev A).pdf - In situ repository for recording custom information when adding any changes such as a script.
