Mosaic Web Site Resources |
In addition to the Smart Read and I/O Reduction statistics available on the vmPRO Home page, you can also view Appliance and Virtual Machine statistics on the Mosaic Web site . These statistics are useful when you need to monitor traffic. This view is similar to what the customer can access--Mosiac administratorss have a different previledge and view.
This topic contains information on:
The Appliances tab is available at the top of the main Mosaic Website page, as shown in the screen example below.
Clicking the Appliance tab displays the 7 Day SmartRead graph for all of your appliances by default. This graph shows an appliance’s performance over the past week. Each appliance reporting to the Mosiac site will have its own graphing. This information can get you started identifying system trends.
Clicking directly on the 7 Day SmartRead graph (shown below) allows you view more statistics for the appliance.
After clicking the graph, a popup window appears, allowing you to adjust the timeframe from 7 Days to either the Last 24 Hours, Yesterday, 30 Days, or 120 Days. This popup also allows you to select more statistical display options, for example, SmartRead, network statistics, port statistics, etc.
In the following example, the Last 24 Hours timeframe is selected along with the eth0 – Bytes display. This shows eth0 port traffic over the last 24 hours.
Troubleshooting Example: If you need to identify the data transfer that is being pushed by each NIC, you can select a specific port (eth0 or eth1, for example) from the Display drop-down list.
To view statistics for a longer period of time (that is, more than 120 days), you can close the popup window and click the See all reports and data for <ip address> link that displays below the 7 Day SmartRead graph, as shown in the following screen example.
The Reports information appears in a table, as shown in the following example.
You can select one of the older available reports by clicking the view this report link. The information in the report is limited to only the Smart Read, Network Rate, CPU Utilization, and Accumulative reads and displays in a log file format (not in a graphical presentation), as shown in the following screen example. This is basically a public-facing view of the Autosupport Report.
The Virtual Machine statistics tab gives the name of the virtual machine as well as its directory path. The tab also includes information on the size, last backup, if Change Blcok Tracking (CBT) is enabled/disabled, the CBT size (if CBT is enabled, this is the size differential), and a Savings bar graph for SmartRead. An example of this tab displays below.
You can also generate a report to see saving of data as as a whole with other useful statistics, which can be helpful when reporting to management or using as a sales tool.
