Methods of M-Series MD Array Access:

 

1. Santricity

 

 

Get SanTricity from CSWEB

• Start SanTricity and Select you ClientHost
• Right Click for ContextMenu and Select “Add Storage Array”
• Choose “In-Band Connection” and enter the IPs from both MDC

 

 

 

 

 

2. VNC

 

• Set VNC Password on MDC

 

[root@M330_01nh ~]# vncpasswd

Password: <set_pw>

Verify: <set_pw>

 

• Start VNC Server

 

/etc/init.d/vncserver start

 

• Use VNC Viewer Application on Management PC
• connect to: <IP-MDC>:1
• enter password <set_pw>
• Run 'SMclient' in the VNC Command prompt

 

 

 

 

 

3. SMCli

 

The LSI CLI used in the majority of cases is located on the MDC at /opt/SMgr/client/SMcli

 

• Start Discovery

 

[root@M330_01nh ~]# SMcli -A

Starting auto discovery.

......

Auto discovery operation successful.

 

• List Devices

 

[root@M330_01nh ~]# SMcli -d -v

Qarray1  Qarray1a  Qarray1b                 Optimal

QD6000   Qarray1a  Qarray1b                 Needs Attention

 

Note: The SMagent which is usually started on a M-Series Appliance by default, needs to be running.

 

[root@M330_01nh ~]# SMagent status
