HOWTO GENERATE SUPPORT LOGS ON BROCADE 6510, 6520 SWITCH:

THERE ARE 2 KINDS OF LOGS ON BROCADE: "supportshow" and "supportsave"

 

supportshow is the quick and short version.

supportsave takes longer and is a more comprehensive log for diagnosis.

 

CMD-LINE:

1. Insert USB drive onto switch

1. Login to Switch with admin privileges via telnet/SSH

3. Enable USB: usbstorage -e

4. Run supportshow or supportsave and specify usb and give it drive and filename on USB

5. List contents of USB: usbstorage -l

6. Disable USB: usbstorage -d

7. Remove USB from switch.

 

GUI:

1.Login into the switch GUI from browser as admin

2.Goto Tools/Supportsave and give it drive and filename on local desktop
