Getting Started |
There are several approaches to troubleshooting using the I2K logs, based on what information was provided to you. The recommended approach is to start with the RAS ticketing system by viewing the rasDumpOutput. Starting with the last RAS entries and working backwards through the previous tickets will help you develop an event history and will direct you to the appropriate logs for review. Watch for dates and times within the failing event, and shorten your search to around that period. Also, use specific key words in the reported failure to search for other related events.
Using product logs to troubleshoot is a process that you will develop over time as you review more and more logs. Identifying the failure and learning where to look in the logs is the key to becoming proficient at reading logs. The I2K log training video demonstrates these principles.
Use the File System Log Structure and Usage Support link below to help you identify which logs relate to the RAS ticket information or to customer-specific issues.
