Overview

The Scalar i2000/i6000 supports HP and IBM LTO and Quantum SDLT drives and media. Many different tools and utilities are available to assist with troubleshooting, each with its own interface and functionality. The resources in this section are designed to:

• Provide information and recommended actions regarding tape alerts
• Show how to collect drive logs
• Show how to use the various drive tools and utilities
• Provide a standard format for collecting and formatting logs for Engineering escalation
• Characterize drive versus media issues and mitigate/reduce/qualify tape drive returns that may be found to be NTF (No Trouble Found)
