Overview

The main configuration steps include:

 

From the DXi GUI

  1. Download and install the OST plugin.
  2. Create at least one storage server.
  3. Create LSUs.

From NetBackup

  1. Configure the media server and start three services.
  2. Register the OST storage Server.
  3. Add credentials for authentication to the storage server.
  4. Discover LSUs.
  5. Configure disk pools and storage units.
  6. Initiate an OST backup to test a backup to the new storage server.

Before you can set up OST, the OST plugin must be installed on the media server. Then you can use the DXi GUI to create storage servers and logical storage units. Next, you need to complete a few steps from Symantec NetBackup or Backup Exec 2010:
