Overview of the Amplidata/HGST Knowledge Base

The Amplidata/HGST Knowledge Base is a troubleshooting resource that is maintained by Amplidata/HGST and available to Quantum Service. The resource is currently not available to our Service Partners. The Knowledge Base is also commonly referred to as the “Troubleshooting Guide” or "Troubleshooting Wiki." An example of the Knowledge Base Home Page is shown below.

 

 

 

 

 


How Content is Organized in the Knowledge Base

The content is organized into several different sections, as described in the following table. Note that this structure may change in the future as the content is updated and expanded.

 

 


Accessing the Knowledge Base

To access the Knowledge Base, you must use a generic Quantum username and password. Use the following procedure to log into the Knowledge Base.

 

Note:  You cannot use your individual username and password to log into the Knowledge Base. However, you must use your individual Amplidata username and password to access the support portal to open support tickets.
 

 

  1. Go to the following URL: https://confluence.amplidata.com/display/ADSUPPQTM/Troubleshooting+guide  Link will open in new window.

Searching for Troubleshooting Information in the Knowledge Base

This procedure describes how to search for information in the Knowledge Base.

 

Scenario: While testing AXR encryption in the lab to resolve an SR, you need to upload a certificate to enable TLS encryption. You need to create a certificate to use in your testing, but you are not sure how to create one. You remember the Amplidata Knowledge Base has search functionality and decide to search for articles on this process.

 

To search for an article on certificates, do the following:

 

  1. Locate the search text box that displays at the top of all Knowledge Base pages, as shown in the following example.
     

     

     

  2. Type certificate in the Search text box and press Enter. A search results page appears.

     

  3. Click LIN010. The LIN010 page appears.

     

     

 

Exporting Information from the Knowledge Base

This procedure describes how to export the Troubleshooting Guide, which contains all the Knowledge Base articles.

 

Scenario: You are going to a customer site tomorrow to troubleshoot issues with a large Lattus implementation. You know that this particular customer’s data center is a “dark site” and does not have Internet access. You want the ability to refer to the information in the Amplidata Knowledge Base, if needed.

 

To export the Amplidata Troubleshooting Guide, do the following:

 

  1. Go to the Troubleshooting Guide page by clicking Troubleshooting guide in the left pane.
     

     

  2. Select Tools > Export to Word.

     

     

     

  3. Save the Word file locally to your computer.
