Access the vmPRO Console without vCenter access

SSH Access to the vmPRO console

There may be times when troubleshooting vmPRO issues that you need access to the console which is available via the vSphere client or vCenter.  If the current administrator doesn’t have permission to view vSphere or the vCenter settings, modification can prove difficult. Most settings can be modified from the appropriate CentOS tools.

This method can prove effective if you are using a DXi over Guardian to SSH into the vmPRO box for remote access.

You can direct the stdout to the ssh session.  Exit the Panshell with the ‘shell-escape’ command.

Enter

/usr/bin/python2.6 /usr/local/pancetera/python/sm/console/console.py

You can now navigate the console.  Enjoy.
