Hardware Overview

Your 1U 10-Drive VS1110-A server arrives installed with:

  • Two 480GB hot-pluggable (SATA) 6Gb/s 3D TLC 2.5" 7mm solid-state drives (SSDs)
  • Two 960GB hot-pluggable (SATA) 6Gb/s 3D TLC 2.5" 7mm solid-state drives (SSDs)
  • Six drive bays reserved for future use

  • Software arrives installed and configured with 2x RAID1, including:

    • Host Operating System (OS) – Installed as the base OS. Login to configure the system.

    • Windows Server 2019 Standard – This OS runs in a virtual machine (VM). The Windows VM runs your applications.

    • Johnson Controls's Metasys® building automation system software. This application is available to install from a drive mounted in the Windows VM.

Item Description Function
1 UID (Information) LED
  • Continuously on and red – Overheat occurred; possibly due to cable congestion.
  • Blinking red (1Hz) – Fan failure. Check for an inoperative fan.
  • Blinking red (0.25Hz) – Power failure. Check for an inoperative power supply.
  • Solid blue – Unit identification (UID) was activated locally, to locate server in rack.
  • Blinking blue – UID was activated using IPMI to locate server in rack.
2 LAN2 LED

When flashing, indicates LAN Port 2 network (NIC) activity.

Note: This LED corresponds to the network port.
3 LAN1 LED

When flashing, indicates LAN Port 1 network (NIC) activity.

Note: This LED corresponds to the Management port.
4 HDD Activity LED When flashing, indicates hard disk drive (HDD) activity.
5 Power LED Indicates power supplied to the system's power supply units. This LED illuminates when the system is operating normally.
6 UID (Information) Unit Identification (UID) button. Turns on or off the blue light function of the UID (Information) LED and a blue LED on the rear panel of the chassis. These are used to locate the server in large racks. Press to activate UID LED.
7 Power Button Main power switch. Applies or removes primary power from the power supply to the server, but maintains standby power.
