Update the JournalSize Setting of a File System
This topic provides examples on how to update the JournalSize setting of a file system.
Do the following to update the JournalSize setting of a non-shared file system.

Log in to the StorNext software GUI of your system (for detailed steps on how to log in to the StorNext software GUI, see Accessing the StorNext GUI).

Navigate to Configuration > File Systems to display the file systems.

On the Configuration > File Systems page, click the file system you want to update the JournalSize for, and then click Edit.
The Configuration > File Systems > Edit > <file system name> page appears.

On the Edit page, expand the Configuration Parameters section.

On the Allocation tab, click the desired value for the Journal Size option, and then click Apply.
A confirmation dialog appears, prompting you to confirm the restart of the file system.

On the confirmation dialog, click Yes to proceed with the operation, or click No to cancel the operation and return to the previous page.
When the file system is restarted, a confirmation dialog appears informing you the process is complete.

On the confirmation dialog, click OK.
Do the following to update the JournalSize setting of a shared file system.
Considerations
-
You can only modify the JournalSize of a shared file system when your cluster is in Config Mode.
Note: While your cluster is in Config Mode, StorNext services are stopped on your secondary MDC.

This process restarts your shared file system and Storage Manager.

Log in to the StorNext software GUI of your system (for detailed steps on how to log in to the StorNext software GUI, see Accessing the StorNext GUI).

Navigate to Tools > High Availability.

On the Tools > High Availability page, click Enter Config Mode. A confirmation dialog appears, prompting you to confirm you want to lock the HA cluster for configuration.

On the confirmation dialog, click Yes to proceed with the operation, or click No to cancel the operation and return to the previous page.
When the HA cluster is locked for configuration, a confirmation dialog appears informing you the process is complete.

On the confirmation dialog, click OK.

Navigate to Configuration > File Systems to display the file systems.

On the Configuration > File Systems page, click the shared file system you want to update the JournalSize for, and then click Edit.
The Configuration > File Systems > Edit > <file system name> page appears.

On the Edit page, expand the Configuration Parameters section.

On the Allocation tab, click the desired value for the Journal Size option, and then click Apply.
A confirmation dialog appears, prompting you to confirm the restart of the shared file system.

On the confirmation dialog, click Yes to proceed with the operation, or click No to cancel the operation and return to the previous page.
When the shared file system is restarted, a confirmation dialog appears informing you the process is complete.

On the confirmation dialog, click OK.

Navigate to Tools > High Availability.

On the Tools > High Availability page, click Exit Config Mode. A confirmation dialog appears, prompting you to confirm you want to unlock the HA cluster.

On the confirmation dialog, click Yes to proceed with the operation, or click No to cancel the operation and return to the previous page.
When the HA cluster is unlocked, a confirmation dialog appears informing you the process is complete.

On the confirmation dialog, click OK.
