Caution:
Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can damage electronic components, including memory modules. To avoid damaging DIMM modules, it is important to handle them carefully. The following measures are generally sufficient.
-
Use a grounded wrist strap designed to prevent static discharge.
-
Handle the memory module by its edges only.
-
Put the memory modules into the antistatic bags when not in use.
Note: If a power loss occurs to the DXi T10, the system will power up automatically after the power returns.

| 1 | The main power switch applies or removes primary power from the power supply to the server but maintains standby power. To perform most maintenance tasks, unplug the system to remove all power. |
-
Plug the power cords into the rear of the power supplies.
-
Press the power button once. The server control board will initiate the power up sequence.
-
Hold down the power button for at least 4 seconds.
Use the following procedure to ensure that power has been removed from the system. This step is necessary when removing or installing non hot-swappable components.
-
Use the operating system to power down the system.
-
After the system has completely shut-down, disconnect the AC power cord(s) from the power strip or outlet. (If your system has more than one power supply, remove the AC power cords from all power supply modules.)
-
Disconnect the power cord(s) from the power supply module(s).
Remove and Install the Chassis Cover
Removing the DXi T10 chassis allows access to the cooling fans and memory modules.
To remove the chassis cover:
-
Grasp the two handles on either side and pull the unit straight out until it locks (you will hear a "click").
-
Depress the two buttons on the top of the chassis to release the top cover and at the same time, push the cover away from you until it stops.
-
Lift the top cover from the chassis to gain full access to the inside of the server.
Caution: Except for short periods of time, do not operate the system without the cover in place. The chassis cover must be in place to allow proper airflow and to prevent overheating.
