Node Drives
Depending on the configuration, the DXi4800 Node supports 6 or 12 high capacity (4 TB) hard disk drives (HDDs) and one or two 480 GB Solid State Drives (SSDs). The Node hard drives are used for the operating system, system software, and indexes needed for data deduplication, replication, space reclamation. The Node solid state drive is used as a cache for file system and blockpool metadata.
All HDDs are mounted and pre-assembled in drive carriers. All HDDs are hot swappable.
Note: The 480 GB SSDs are not hot swappable.

Note: The second SSD will be installed in Slot 13 when a third Expansion Module (JBOD) is added.
