OST Statistics – Accelerator Graphs
(DXi systems only)
Use the OST Statistics – Accelerator graphs to understand the network bandwidth savings and performance benefits that you are achieving when NetBackup Accelerator is enabled to enhance your backups. These graphs consist of the following.

Displays the following breakdown of data:

Displays the amount of data being read from the

Displays the total amount of data sent to the appliance for backup after Accelerator identifies, optimizes, and sends only the changed data blocks to the appliance.

Displays the amount of data from the synthesized image file that is saved on disk after deduplication and compression.
Figure 1: OST Accelerator – Ingest Graph

Displays the total amount of data sent to the appliance for backup after Accelerator identifies, optimizes, and sends only the changed data blocks to the appliance.
Figure 2: OST Accelerator – Ingest Data Bytes Graph

Displays the amount of data from the synthesized image file that is saved on disk after deduplication and compression.
Figure 3: OST Accelerator – Ingest Unique Bytes

Displays the amount of data being read from the appliance to be synthesized with ingest data bytes arriving at the appliance from the client.
Figure 4: OST Accelerator – Ingest Synthetic Bytes

Displays the savings achieved through Accelerator CBT. Total savings are calculated using the following equation:
1 - (Ingest Data Bytes) / (Ingest Data Bytes + Synthetic Bytes)

- The client machine sends 50 GB of data (ingest data bytes) to the appliance.
- The appliance reads 950 GB of data (synthetic data bytes) from the disk, and then merges the 950 GB with the 50 GB to create a 1 TB image file.
- The appliance then writes only the 50 GB of unique data (unique data bytes) to disk. The savings achieved by Accelerator is 95%:
1 - (50 GB) / (50 GB + 950 GB) = 95% savings
Figure 5: OST Accelerator – Savings Graph

Displays the percentage of ingest data bytes that have been merged with synthetic data bytes on the appliance.
