About the Artico (R630) System
At its most basic configuration, Artico (R630) is made up of server and storage components.

Artico (R630) systems include a server node for an entry-level system, or two server nodes which provide high availability (HA) failover operation. Each Artico (R630) server operates as a StorNext metadata controller (MDC) for StorNext operations. In dual-server HA environments, only the server currently operating as primary performs this function. The system operates as a StorNext NAS Gateway, can be a host for one or more the Dynamic Application Environment Virtual Machines (see System Software: The Dynamic Application Environment on the Xcellis | Artico Doc Center), can operate as a DDM in dual-server environments, and hosts StorNext Connect (on the single server, or on server node 2 in dual-server environments).
Artico (R630) provides unified file sharing using NAS (SMB or NFS).
