StorNext: Apple Computers Experiencing Degradation in Performance

XSAN clients that go into a sleep mode when a file is open on a StorNext file system (or has data in the file system cache) will prevent other clients from opening the same file.  This results in extremely slow performance.  

To disable sleep mode on the Apple computer, run the command:   

sudo pmset -a disablesleep 1

This command disables (grayed out) sleep in the Apple menu and removes it from
the available options when the power key is depressed on the keyboard, etc..
It's much more effective at preventing sleep than moving the sliders around in
System Preferences. The pmset command is mentioned in the following Apple KB article:
