This window provides information about the company or organization to which the library belongs and the person who has responsibilities for the library. This contact information is used for product registration and event ticket notification when Quantum needs to contact the person responsible for the library.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Contact. The Contact window contains the following:

   Contact Name	Complete these fields with the appropriate information.
   Company Name
   Address 1
   Address 2
   City
   State
   Postal Code
   Country
   Phone Number
   E-mail Address
   System Description	The contact person may be a contact on more than one system. The system description allows the contact person to know to which system the notification pertains.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

This window allows you to set up email server configuration settings so the library can send notifications for RAS ticket and reporting purposes. It also allows you to test your e-mail settings.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click E-mail.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Activate E-Mail Service	Allows you to enter library email information. Activates and deactivates the library E-mail service.	Select the check box to activate email service. Deselect the check box to deactivate email service.
   SMTP Server	SMTP stands for Simple Mail Transfer Protocol. An SMTP server sends and receives emails.	Enter the IP address or DNS name of the SMTP server. To use DNS, it must be setup. See DNS Settings for details.
   Library E-Mail Address	This is the email address that will send out email notifications.	Enter the email address assigned to the library. Note: Do not use underscores (_) in the library email address.
   Enable TLS	Transport Layer Security. Encrypts email traffic from server to server.	Select the check box to enable TLS.
   Account Authentication	If the SMTP server requires authentication, you will need to provide a user name and password.	Select the check box to enable authentication. Deselect the check box to disable authentication.
   User Account	User name for the library email account.	Enter text.
   Password	Password for the library email account.	Enter text.
   Save Settings	It is recommended to test your settings prior to saving and closing the window.	Select the radio button and click Apply.
   Test Settings	Allows you to ensure the library email is working properly.	Select the radio button to test.
   Recipient Address	Enter the email address of the account you want to use to test.	Click Apply. If the test is not successful, you will have to change your settings.

3. After you have saved your settings, click Close to exit the window.

This window allows you to send the library system logging to another server.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click E-mail.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Enable Remote Logging	Allows you to send system logging to a defined server.	Select the check box to enable remote system logging. Deselect the check box to disable remote system logging.
   Syslog Server	Allows you to enter the IP address or DNS of the remote logging server. Note: Up to 10 syslog servers can be added.	Enter the IPv4 address, IPv6 address, or DNS name of the remote server. To use DNS, it must be setup. See DNS Settings for details.
   Port	Defines the server port to be used for remote logging. Port Information Default assigned port number is 514. Any port number from 1 - 64000 is supported. For TCP ports, port number 0 is reserved and cannot be used. For UDP ports, the source port is optional. A value of 0 indicates no port.	Enter the port number.
   Transport	Defines the server transport layer to be used.	Select TCP Transmission Control Protocol or UDP User Datagram Protocol.
   Save/Test Settings	Allows server settings to be tested and saved.	Select Test Settings to test the connection from the library to the remote server. Select Save Settings to save the library/remote server connection settings.

3. Click Apply to save your setting.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

This window allows you to configure date and time settings for your library, either by using NTP or defining them yourself.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Date/Time.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Use NTP	NTP – Network Time Protocol NTP allows you to synchronize the library clock over a network to NTP. When you select this check box, a list of server fields appears, which allows you to enter the IP or URI address of up to five NTP servers.	Select this check box. For details on setting up NTP servers, see Setup Date and Time. To disable NTP, deselect the check box.
   12/24 Hour Clock	Displays the time in standard (12 hr) or military/European (24 hr) format.	Select the desired radio button.
   Time Zone	Allows you to select the time zone where the library resides.	Select a value from the drop-down menu.
   Date	Allows you to manually select the current date. Available if you don't use NTP.	Click the Calendar icon and use the arrows to navigate to the correct month. Then select the desired day.
   Hour	Allows you to manually select the current hour.	Use the arrow buttons to specify the hour.
   Minute	Allows you to manually select the current minute.	Use the arrow buttons to specify the desired minute.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) is a light-weight protocol designed for remote management and monitoring of networked devices. The library provides SNMP support for library status monitoring purposes (such as GET operations) but not for configuration purposes (such as SET operations).

This window lets you set the protocol, security and access configuration.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click SNMP.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Enable SNMP Support	Allows you to activate SNMP.	Select the check box to enable SNMP. Deselect the check box to disable SNMP.
   Enable SNMP v3	Allows you to use SNMP v3 which provides security with authentication and privacy. Passwords are required with this feature.	Automatically on when SNMP is enabled.
   Enable SNMP v1/v2	Allows you to use SNMP version 1 and 2 in addition to version 3.	Select this check box to enable SNMP v1/v2 protocol. Deselect to disable v1/v2 protocol.
   Enable SNMP User Login Traps	Allows you to enable SNMP traps to monitor the following user activity: Successful user logins. User logouts. Failed user login attempts.	Select this check box to enable. Deselect to disable.
   Community String	This is sent along with each SNMP Get-Request and allows (or denies) access to a router's or other device's statistics. If the community string is correct, the device responds with the requested information.	Enter the desired content.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

Registering the library activates the warranty. After completing the initial setup of the library, you can automatically register the library. The library uploads the information you entered in the Contact screen (see Configure System Contact Information.) If you have not filled out the contact information yet, you will receive a message with a link.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Registration.

   

3. Click Apply to open the online registration form. Complete the form as directed.
4. Click Close to exit the Registration window.

A proxy server can be enabled and configured to the i6 library. You can use a proxy server if the library does not have an Internet connection, but you need access outside of the library to support Cloud-Based Analytics (CBA) and library firmware upgrade check functionality.

Note: The proxy server currently supports Cloud-Based Analytics (CBA) and library firmware upgrade checks only.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Proxy Server.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Enable Proxy Server	Allows you to enable a proxy server for CBA and library firmware check access to the library.	Select the check box to enable a proxy server. Deselect the check box to disable a proxy server.
   Server	IP address of the proxy server.	Enter the proxy server IP address. Do not enter http:// or https:// before the IP address number.
   Port	Port used to connect to the porxy server.	Enter the proxy server port number.
   Enable Authentication	Enable if username and password authentication is required for proxy server access.	Select the check box to enable proxy server authentication. Deselect the check box to disable proxy server authentication.
   Username	Enter the required username used to access the proxy server. The username must match what is configured in the proxy server. Note: This field is disabled if the Enable Authentication check box is disabled.	Enter the proxy server username.
   Password	Enter the required password used to access the proxy server. The password must match what is configured in the proxy server. Note: This field is disabled if the Enable Authentication check box is disabled.	Enter the proxy server password. Select eye icon to unmask and view the password entered.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.
4. Click Close to exit the Proxy Server window.

A library firmware upgrade involves two different actions: uploading the firmware and installing the firmware. On the window, you can view the current version of installed firmware and install a manually uploaded version, or install the latest released firmware version, which is available through the Quantum website. This allows you to upload the library firmware and install when convenient.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Library Firmware.

   

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Install Version	Displays the version of firmware currently running on the library.	Information only.
   Last Install	Displays the date and time of the last library firmware install.	Information only.
   Uploaded Version	Most recent version that you manually uploaded, or that you received from Quantum.	Information only.
   Rollback Version	The previous library firmware version that is stored on the library controller blade. Rolling the library configuration back to an earlier firmware version will cause the library to return to factory default settings. You can recover your library configuration if you saved a library configuration that contained the rollback library firmware version and no physical changes have been made to the library (new drives, new expansion modules, etc.) since the previous library configuration was saved.	Information only.
   Upload Firmware Image - Library Upload	Automatic Install on Next Reboot - System automatically installs the latest uploaded version of library firmware on the next system reboot.	Select check box.
   Upload Firmware Image - Library Upload	Provides two options for uploading library firmware: Firmware from Quantum Website - allows you to upload the latest library firmware available to on Quantum.com to the system. Firmware from Local Computer -allows you to upload library firmware from a location on your local computer that you specify.	Select the desired radio button and click Apply to begin the firmware upload.
   Upload Firmware Image - Computer Download	Firmware from Quantum Website - allows you to download library firmware to a location that you specify.	Select the radio button and click Apply to begin the download.
   Install firmware image	Provides two options for installing library firmware: Install uploaded version - this is a version that you manually uploaded, or that you received from Quantum. Rollback to firmware /configuration version - allows you to return to a previous library firmware version that is stored on the library controller blade Caution: Performing a library firmware rollback returns the library to a previous configuration. This may affect the current library configuration. Re-install current version - allows you to re-install the last firmware package you uploaded and installed.	Select the desired radio button. Click Apply to begin installing library firmware. You can monitor the progress of the installation. When installation is complete, a confirmation box displays.

3. Click Close to exit the window.

The Blade Software feature allows you to upload a new version of firmware for iBlades. Once uploaded, the library will auto-level the blades on the next library or iBlade restart.

Note: The blade software on an iBlade cannot be rolled back. Only current or later versions can be uploaded and installed.

1. Click Apply.

2. Click Close to exit the window.

Uploading drive firmware is the first step to updating your drive(s). From this window you can upload or remove tape drive firmware. The library will display up to the last three (3) versions of drive firmware for each active drive type available in your library.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Drive Firmware.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Upload Firmware	Allows you to select the version of drive firmware you want to install from a local host.	Select this radio button. Click Browse to navigate to the desired drive firmware version you want to install. Click Apply.
   Remove Firmware	Allows you to remove versions of drive firmware previously uploaded.	Select this radio button. Click the check box next to the version(s) of the drive firmware you want to remove. Click Apply.

3. Click Close to exit the window.

The library supports an SNMP Management Information Base (MIB) that can be used to integrate the library with commercial SNMP management applications. The MIB can be queried to obtain the status of the library and many of its individual components. Administrators can download the SNMP MIB from the library. The MIB can then be installed on an SNMP external management application.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click MIB Retrieval.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Save	Allows you to save a MIB file to an external storage site.	Select this radio button and click Apply. The file is downloaded by your browser. Save the file to its desired location.
   Send	Allows you to send the MIB file to one or more email addresses.	Select this radio button, enter one or more email addresses, and click Apply. Use a semicolon to separate email addresses.

3. Click Close to exit the window.

The library allows you to upload a local copy of help in instances where you don't have access to the Internet.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Help Upload.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Use Local Help	Allows you to use an uploaded version of online help.	Select the check box to enable local help. Deselect the check box next disable local help.
   Current Version	Displays the version of the uploaded help currently being used.	Information only.
   User Specified Online Help Bundle	Allows you to navigate to the help bundle you want to upload.	Click Browse and navigate to the location of the help bundle you want to upload.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

A CSR (Certificate Signing Request) is a block of encoded text that is given to a Certificate Authority (CA). This allows for the creation of a signed SSL certificate that provides authenticated secure communication.

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Generate CSR.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Key Length	Allows you to select the number of bits in your encryption key: 1024 2048 4096 Note: The more bits, the more secure the key. However, higher encryption calls for more computing power to process the key when accessing the library.	Select a value from the drop-down menu.
   Digest Algorithm	Allows you to select the algorithm that will be used to decode the certificate encryption when a request comes in to access the library. Values include: sha1 sha256 sha512	Select a value from the drop-down menu.
   Common Name (DNS Name)	The fully qualified domain name of your server or the address you enter in a web browser to access your site.	Enter a value.
   Country Code	These optional fields allow you to add more details to the certificate and where it is used. If you have multiple certificates, these details can help you keep track of which certificate is used where.	Complete the fields as necessary.
   State/Province
   Locality
   Organization
   Organization Unit
   E-Mail Address
   Subject Alternative Name (SAN)	Allows you to specify additional host names.	Click on the + icon to enter an alternative name.
   Signing Data Request	This is the encrypted certificate that is generated based on information in the Signing Request Parameters. This information is sent to a certificate authority for authorization.	No action required.
   Display and Save	Creates a file that can be sent off to a Certificate Authority.	Select the check box.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

This window allows an administrator to install or replace a signed SSL certificate (.pem) on the library system.

Note: The SSL certificate (.pem) is used to secure library communications. It is not used for data encryption or LDAP. For information on data encryption, refer to Scalar i6 Encryption).

1. From the Navigation panel, select System.

2. In the Operations panel, click Load Certificate.

   

   Item	Description	Action
   Certificate Selection	Allows you to select the way you want to add certificates: Load Certificate Bundle - add multiple certificates at one time (currently not available) Load Signed CSR Certificate - add a single certificate	Select the radio button. Click Browse to navigate to the bundle or single certificate to add.
   Certificate Installation Summary	Lists all currently installed and active certificates for your library.	No action required.

3. Click Apply to save your settings.

4. Click Close to exit the window.

Your library has many configurable items, such as tape drive IDs, partitions, user accounts, Import/Export (I/E) slots, and cleaning slots. The Save/Restore window allows you to save your library's configuration and then restore the library’s firmware and configurable items to a previous state in the event of a hardware failure or firmware upgrade.
