The SNMP tab allows you to configure the Q-Cloud Protect appliance to send status messages using Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP).
SNMP works by sending messages, called protocol data units (PDUs), to different parts of a network, or communities. SNMP compliant devices, called agents, store data about themselves in Management Information Bases (MIBs) and return this data to the SNMP requesters.
You can configure the Q-Cloud Protect appliance to act as an agent and send traps to a specified destination. You can also add SNMP community information.
The Q-Cloud Protect appliance supports SNMP v1 and v2c. To access a copy of the SNMP MIB file, see SNMP MIB File.
If you do not configure SNMP, the cloud appliance will not be able to send status messages.
