Configure NAS Authentication

When you create a NAS cluster using the Manage NAS application, StorNext Connect initially configures the cluster using local authentication with the default sysadmin user. Other supported authentication types include Microsoft Active Directory (ADS), OpenLDAP with Kerberos (LDAP), and OpenLDAP with Samba Schema (LDAPS).

To configure NAS authentication:

  1. On the Manage NAS home page, click in the Authentication column of the cluster row. The screen opens to the authentication configuration form.
  2. To change the authentication type, select the method used to authenticate users in the Authentication type list.
  3. Complete the form to authorize the NAS gateway to validate users.

  4. Click Done.
  5. Click Review pending changes.
  6. Confirm the changes and click Commit changes to commit the changes to the Appliance Controller, OR click Discard all changes to exit without saving or committing changes.
